Wire Gold on Limonite Matrix

This vibrant gold specimen is one of the best from its locality and is a great example that gold goes not have to be large to be impressive. Its crystal morphology is robust and complex with elongating wires of native gold branching in a dendritic formation. The gold wires are visible all throughout the limonite matrix with much larger wires on its reverse side. Most of the specimen is composed of thick robust dendritic wire crystals which make the gold stand out with its darker drown matrix. This gold holds all the aesthetics a mineral collector desires. Upon closer examination we can see the delicately formed striations on each gold wire surface and some crystals still slightly hidden inside the matrix. This gold specimen is one of the most pronounced specimens from this locality and a great addition to any mineral collection.
