This very rare gold specimen from Colorado is an exceptional wire gold cluster with some wires branching out while others are interwoven ad overlapping. the native gold wires display very complex habits. The native gold crystals are lustrous and some exhibit flattened faces. The reverse side of the dols specimen displays thick wires with similar complex overlapping wire gold. The back of the specimen also displays a hematite matrix which is an iron oxide rich mineral. Native gold wires from this locality are not often available to mineral collectors.
