Wire Gold Cluster
Manhattan Mine, Manhattan Mining District, Toquima Range, Nye County, Nevada, USA
This exceptional gold quartz specimen features intricate, overlapping, and gently curved wire crystals clustered closely together. It is incredibly rare, particularly since the Manhattan Mine is no longer in operation. The natural gold wires are visible from every angle, with the back side displaying shorter wire crystals. Dense and exhibiting a rich, buttery yellow color, the specimen includes minor quartz matrix interspersed among the lustrous gold crystals. In some areas, the gold has crystallized into a starburst pattern, forming thick gold wires that spread outward like a star. This wire gold specimen is a prime example from this locality.
