Wire Gold Cluster
Manhattan Mine, Manhattan Mining District, Toquima Range, Nye County, Nevada, USA
This extraordinary gold quartz specimen showcases complex, overlapping, and slightly curved wire crystals that cluster closely together. This piece is incredibly rare, especially since the Manhattan Mine is no longer operational. The natural gold wires are visible from all sides, with the back side featuring much shorter wire crystals. Dense and exhibiting a rich, buttery yellow color, the specimen includes minor quartz matrix interspersed among the lustrous gold crystals. In some areas, the gold has crystallized into a starburst effect, forming thick gold wires that spread outward in a star pattern. This wire gold specimen is a prime example from this locality.
