Spinel Twin Wire Gold Crystal

This impressive wire gold specimen displays a thick and chunky surface with modified octahedral crystals branching out from its sides. The wire crystal has developed curved striations which resembles the growth pattern in which it grew into. The gold specimen on some areas displays large octahedral crystals which are modified into flattened plates that grew alongside the curved striation patterns. There is also a hoppered effect displayed on the lower portion which are flattened very short plate like crystals which grew horizontally and vertically in step patterns. This wire gold specimen is a rare and prime example for its locality and almost never available to mineral collectors.
