Native Gold Wire Spinel Twin

This unusual and unique native gold wire displays a spinel twinning with large modified octahedral crystals. Many of the crystals don’t look like they are a perfect octahedral but represent modified or semi octahedral crystals. The native gold crystal displays highly visible growth striations on both sides of the specimen the front side developed a much more intense crystallized striations. Some areas the octahedral crystals form into thin plates of crystalline gold on its outer edges representing an almost leaf aesthetic. A small amount of limonite is displayed on its lower matrix.
