Native Platinum Crystal Cube
Konder Massif, Khabarovsk Territory, Far Eastern Region, Russia
This incredible and rare specimen of native platinum displays a group of slightly waterworn platinum cubes from the Konder Massif, Far Eastern Region of Russia. The native platinum exhibits a bright metallic luster and in some areas very sharp right angled crystals. Its crystal formation formed into clustered of cubes grown on top of one another in a stacked fashion with some interlocking cubic crystal clusters. Its reverse side displays smaller complex intricate clusters of cubic platinum crystals stacked on top of one another with some of its original host rock attached. The Konder Massif region is the only known reported area where platinum naturally develops into cubed crystals which makes specimens from this locality highly collectable and even more difficult to acquire.
