Native Gold on Calcite

This incredibly rich gold specimen displays thick clusters of native gold with flat lustrous surfaces. There are other sections of elongated flat gold crystals of leaf gold. The crystals formed in a parallel pattern on the calcite matrix. Gold with calcite is unusually a rare combination of minerals from California which makes this specimen rare ad unique. The native gold runs through the calcite matrix with smaller crystals scattered all throughout the front of the specimen.
