Native Gold on Arsenopyrite 
Oriental Mine, Sierra County, California 
This crystallized gold specimen exhibits robust clusters of rick buttery yellow gold. These gold crystals are spread throughout the matrix with angular sharp crystals and flat faces. The darker matrix is arsenopyrite which is a rare association in nature. Some of the gold crystals are wire gold which makes this very unique and rare. The reverse side also displays large gold crystals as clusters of lustrous native gold. This native gold specimen is a prime example displaying many formations of crystal gold. The Oriental mine is now closed with no plans on reopening.
