Gold on Quartz

This remarkable gold nugget from the dry Sonora Desert is a very rare mineral specimen and is often not available to collectors. The gold nugget was found by a local native in an ancient tertiary gold-bearing channel. Its surface displays a great luster with smooth faces while other areas are rugged and robust. The reverse side displays smooth natural surfaces with similar lusters surfaces. This gold is an overall solid chunky specimen, with a saturated buttery yellow color.
