Gold on Quartz

This extraordinary gold crystal, unearthed in the arid Sonora Desert, is an exceptionally rare native mineral, often unattainable for collectors. Originating from the same deposit mined by the ancient Aztecs and Spanish Conquistadors for currency, jewelry, and other valuables, this specimen was discovered by a local prospector in a rich quartz and gold vein. The crystallized gold features a vibrant, lustrous surface with robust crystals and a complex structure. The gold crystals are heavy and thick and goes through the quartz matrix. Encased in limonite and white quartz, the gold is beautifully showcased within. Its bright yellow color makes it an exemplary specimen from this locality.
