Octahedral Gold Crystal
Irish Gulch, El Dorado Creek, Dawson City, Yukon, Canada
This exceptionally aesthetic gold crystal features a complete octahedral crystal with hollow hoppered crystal morphology. Its outer section is slightly textured with complex striations and secondary crystal growth. The hoppered crystals are formed deep inside the hollowed-out section with multi layered crystal plate features making this crystal a rare native gold from this locality, On the reverse side well-crystallized sharp edged clustered crystals forming densely clustered spinel twin formations which are both intriguing and complex upon closer examination. The color is a rich buttery yellow and with good luster adding to its already incredible aesthetics. This small gold crystal specimen is a great representation of the locality.
