Crystallized Gold Wire on Quartz

This exceptionally aesthetic gold specimen showcases milky white quartz adorned with intricate and robust gold leaves. The crystallized gold has a rich buttery yellow hue with lustrous surfaces. Its growth patterns mainly consist of modified wire crystals with sharp, pointed tips, interspersed with clusters of leafy gold. Preserved native gold crystals on quartz are rare, as most miners extract the gold from the matrix rock. The milky white quartz also features clear quartz points on the native gold surface. This specimen is a prime example from its locality.
