Crystallized Gold on Quartz

This native gold crystal displays an incredible vibrant yellow hue unique to gold found in Mariposa County. The gold has crystallized into many flat faces showing off a very high luster. Some gold crystals have developed into small flattened octahedrons and other areas being a sponge like mesh of crystallization. The native gold is thick and runs through most of the quartz matrix with very small areas of having limoniteinclusions. The milky white quartz matrix makes a great contrast to the crystallized native gold.
