Crystallized Gold on Quartz

This native gold crystal displays an incredible vibrant yellow hue unique to gold found in Mariposa County. The gold has crystallized into many flat faces showing off a very high luster. Some gold crystals have developed into a cluster of overlapping leaf crystals. The native gold is thick and runs through most of the quartz matrix with very small areas of having limonite inclusions. The milky white quartz matrix makes a great contrast to the crystallized native gold.
