Crystallized Gold
El Álamo district, Baja California, México
This gold crystal originated from a very rare locality and often unheard of. What adds to its uniqueness are the sharp well defined crystallization which is rarely seen with gold specimens from Mexico. The crystal morphology on the front side developed large robust flat crystals of native gold overlapping one another. Its crystallography is largely composed of short leafy plate crystals with good luster with slightly textured surface and secondary microcrystal growth. Its reverse side displays concentrations of closely grouped microcrystals. Its overall shape is very aesthetic and crystalized all around. The native gold crystal is a rich buttery yellow color with good luster. This gold specimen is a great representation from its locality.
