Crystallized Gold
El Álamo district, Baja California, México
This exceptional gold crystal originates from an extremely rare and seldom-documented locality, making it a standout piece. Its uniqueness is highlighted by the sharp, well-defined crystallization, a feature rarely observed in gold specimens from Mexico. The front side exhibits thick dendritic branches of native gold, intricately overlapping and intersecting, while the reverse side displays spinel twin crystal formations with elongated clusters of native gold crystals intergrown. The specimen is fully crystallized on all sides, showcasing a highly aesthetic and balanced form. The native gold displays a rich, buttery yellow color with excellent luster, making this piece an outstanding representation of its locality.
