This rare native gold crystal is from one of California’s most well-known gold mine. The Colorado Quartz Mine produced and sometimes still produces the best examples of world class crystallized gold specimens. This example here is a highly lustrous thick leaf like gold specimen with flat plates of reflective gold faces. The gold specimen also exhibits smaller crystals branching out with complex striations on its surface. The color is a saturated bright yellow with great luster overall. The specimen can also be displayed on both sides with equal beauty.
